Website Design

As well as researching and creating site maps in order to create my own website, i created, with previous images, designs for my website using different fonts, colours, alignment etc before taking photographs.

I then used my own pictures and played around with different fonts colours and page layout to fit the desirability of a website.

Here is my original image

This is my image edited - change of saturation, contrast, highlights etc, with my website design layout on top of it. I used the same font as in my poster.

Feedback On Final Poster

Below is my final horror poster for my horror film 'Oblivious'

I questionned my classmates asking them what they liked and didnt like, from feedback i can conclude that the writing for the title was not large or clear enough, and the position of the photo (landscape) would look more like a film poster if changed to portrait.
Therefore i changed the elements of the poster, modifying it to the feedback above.

Firstly i changed the font of the film to a larger bolder size, as well as the writing at the bottom of the poster. I felt this stood out a lot more.

I then changed it again, to portrait, changing the font size again to a smaller size to fit onto the poster.

I then asked for feedback again on my edited poster.

Poster Designs

Our next task was to individually take photographs for our own posters of the movie we are promoting.
I decided to photograph a close up of a hand covered in blood and mud - as it relates to one of the scenes in the trailer we will be creating.
Below is a collage of the number of photographs i took (some good, some bad)

I then chose my favourite photograph and decided to develop it further.
This is my original photo before editing

This is my photo after editing. I changed the lighting by darkening the picture, i added a fade ' level 5' to make the picture duller, and changed the highlights, saturation and shadowing.

I then added in the name of the film 'oblivious' in a graphic font used previously for my poster designs.

I applied this font to the edited photograph

I then changed the photo to black and white setting on photoshop to see the contrast of the coloured font to the photograph.

Using the previous image above, i changed the font size, boldness and the line spacing in-between the letters. I felt this made the writing on the hand stand out a lot more, and help it to contrast even more with the colours of the photograph.

I then added an 'edge blur' setting to the picture, making it look more dull and gloomy

Again, using the same edited image, i changed the font and size of the title. I changed the font to 'Lycanthrope' size 96 and kept the same colour lettering. I also added an extra line 'anything can happen' to help emphasise the horror elements of the image.

On this picture i changed the font to 'narcolepsy', bold, size 44

I then decided to change the colours of the image. I made the image black and white and changed the saturation, shadows etc as before. I then used photoshop to change the colour of the blood on the arm to red. I did this to give a contrasting look and to also emphasise the blood - associated with horror. I liked this edit the most out of all my designs.

I then used the same image again, and decided to add the text 'oblivious' as seen on previous designs. The writing also matched the bloody on the arms and hand of the image, promoting a gorey/horror image. I also then added the logo of 'new line cinema' - our production company of the film. This gave it a professional look alike previous professional posters.

I then added an image from google over the edited picture (above) and used the 'blend' tool. I liked this effect as it gave it made it look more classic.
I played around with the image above by changing the fonts. I kept the same font 'slasha' and added an dull black shadow and blur to the lettering. Though this made the lettering more bold and prominent, i did not like how it looked, i preferred the more plain lettering such as above.

As i didn't like the 'glow' edit on the text, i decided to modify it. I changed the transparency and colour to a lighter grey, making it look less bold and prominent. I also added the names of the producers, characters and production company 'new line cinema' as well as the logo. I also added the text 'coming soon' in a different font 'Lycanthrope' above the text of the producers etc.

After feedback, i decided i did not like the text 'glow' effect. I kept the same text as before - plain/bold. On this edit i changed the 'new line cinema' logo to black and white to fit in with the background, as before i thought it looked a bit out of place due to the colouring - blue. Overall i am very happy with this design and will be using it as my final for my poster.
