New Task - Music Magazine - Photographs of current music magazines

In this post there are photographs from three big music magazines i have collected and photographed. One is called 'Q', one is FHM the music issue and the other is 'KERRANG'. Later on i will annotate these photographs for my new task which is to create a music magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread.

This post shows an explanation of my final front cover design.

Here is a draft of my final product of my school magazine front cover.

School Magazine Front Cover Image

For the front cover of my magazine i was asked to take a mid shot photograph of one person. I decided to use a student at my current school The Hemel Hempstead School. The image was taken by the main building of the school. On the bottom is the original image i took for the front cover. After taking the image i decided it needed to be lightened up somehow. I edited it in a programme called 'picasa'. I used the tools 'fill light', 'highlights' and 'shadows' to make the photograph stand out more clearer. The image at the top is the final photograph i will be using on my school magazine front cover.

Music Magazine Task

Our new task that has been set is to create a new and original music magazine for a certain age group and genre. We will be creating our own: Front cover, contents page and double spread page. These will be completed in 7 weeks.

I have created a itinerary for this task so i can complete it in the set amount of time we have to do it.

Thursday 11th February - annotatae a music magazine that interests me, take photographys, analyse and comment and compare different magaziens to show variety

Tuesday 16th - Plan what genre, age group and target audience your magazine is for.

Thursday 18th - Plan name of magzine, price, lable/company producing magazine, main colours for the magazine and what pictures will be included - how they will be taken

Tuesday 23rd - Sketch ideas for front page, contents page and double page spread and what will be written in the double page spread

Thursday 25th - Take photographs for the front cover and blog them explaining why i took them and how i did

Tuesday 2nd - Create final design of front cover

Thursday 4th - Create final design of contents page

Tuesday 9th - Create final design of double page spread

Thursday 11th - Another day to create double page spread

Tuesday 16th - Make sure everything is blogged and commented on. Including sketches and ideas etc.

With this itinerary it leaves me a week and a half extra to make sure everything is up to date and complete.
